About the Rescue

Rescue 2 is Quartered with Engine 42 and car 9 in the Roxbury section of the city. The Rescue runs with 1 officer and 4 firefighters per group.

All members of Rescue 2 are trained in Tunnel rescue, confined space, trench rescue, High angle rescue, and Building collapse. We spens many hours each month in training.

In 1999 Rescue 2 ran over 2000 calls, 956 of them for fires. In 2000, Rescue 2 ran 2300 calls, 911 of them for fires. Rescue 2 responds to all building fires in division 2. Division 2 is made up of District 5,7,8,9,10, and 12.

Division 2 is made up od the Neighborhoods, Mattapan, JP, Hyde park, West Roxbury, Roxbury, Dorchester, and The Fenway. Division 2 is made up of Engines,14,16,17,18,20,21,24,28,30,37,42,48,49,52,53,55, and the Fire Brigade. Ladders,4,6,7,10,16,23,25,26,28,29.
